Cinco Jotas is an official partner to The World’s 50 Best Restaurants 2023.

Chefs Virgilio Martínez and Pía León’s restaurant Central in Lima took the top slot this year.

Cinco Jotas, as an ambassador of Spanish gastronomy, has collaborated with the organization since 2017. In this 20th edition, Cinco Jotas once again participated in all of the official events.

This year, the organization chose the City of Arts and Sciences, in Valencia, to announce the 50 best restaurants in the world, at a gala attended by the elite of international gastronomy. Six Spanish restaurants were included on the list, with three of them within the top five: Disfrutar, DiverXO and Etxebarri.

Cinco Jotas, the emblematic Jabugo brand with over 140 years of history has once again been an official partner to the prestigious food and drink ranking: The World’s 50 Best Restaurants. We were able to experience the excitement of all those included on the new list, especially the restaurant that was proclaimed the best in the world: Central in Lima (Peru), which is in the hands of chefs Virgilio Martínez and Pía León. We also celebrated the presentation of the Icon Award to Andoni Adúriz, which he received for his outstanding work throughout his career, as well as the excellent achievements of the many Spanish restaurants on the list:

  • DiverXO (Madrid, Spain). 3rd place
  • Etxebarri (Axpe, Spain). 4th place
  • Quique Dacosta (Dénia, Spain). 20th place
  • Elkano (Getaria, Spain). 22nd place
  • Mugaritz (Errenteria, Spain). 31st place

Thanks to our expert ham carvers, Cinco Jotas was a part of all of the official events in Valencia: the Welcome Dinner for the Academy Chairs, the 50 Best Talks conferences, and the exclusive party for the chefs, known as the Chef’s Feast. And of course, we were at the exciting prize Gala, where they announced this year’s much-anticipated list. The thousands of guests were able to enjoy the best 100% Ibérico jamón de bellota.

Through its participation, Cinco Jotas showed its support to professionals of haute cuisine at the highest national and international levels, as well as the restaurant sector, representing the best of Spanish gastronomy.
